This body of work examines how one can be simultaneously drawn to places and feelings that are not always equally perceived yet naturally balanced.
THINGS ARE NOT BINARY.
They are a chiaroscuro of depth and interpretation creating a marble effect, elements combining over time, through pressure and heat, coming in and out of sight at different moments. When held together, each uniquely designed link portrays how one’s own perspective evolves and grows to exist as a whole.
The collection
PROCESS
The design of the link is a representation of a single entity that changes through time to form a whole. It is a version of previous links I have designed and shows the passing of time through changes in form, texture, and materials. Allowing the components to interlock naturally and manipulating traditional techniques with contemporary technology. From beginning to end this body of work grew organically just like the link design has developed throughout my practice. Starting from sketches to computer modeling, going back to sketching, prototyping, problem-solving, material exploration and manipulation, more sketching, mold making, casting, dyeing, beading.
